Afterlight Films Ltd. is an award-winning independent film production company specializing in original short and long format narrative, documentary, series, and other cinematic stories. We also offer a variety of services to local and international filmmakers for all stages of production.

Our passion is rooted in the cinema’s ability to lower our guard with the lights; escaping our bias of self-awareness to experience genuine empathy for the struggles of others.
We believe audience engagement is determined by the relatability of our characters, admitting the faults of our heroes while creating sympathy for our villains.
But film is so much more than a window for the voyeur, it’s also a mirror, and when we catch our reflection laughing and crying in a room full of strangers, we realize the power of cinema.

No matter how unique our experiences of love and loss… no matter our age, race, gender, or beliefs… we all find ways to relate to the same story. The beauty of the illusion was never in the light, but in the reminder that our laughter and tears are indistinguishable in the dark.
Politics of division do not determine the relevance or relatability of our stories and need for support.
Afterlight Films is a beacon of inclusion for artists to collaborate on character-driven features, series, and documentary stories that engage our empathy; bringing audiences back to the theatre to remember that our worth is not defined by our differences, but by the empathy that endures despite them.

In accordance with Canadian Copyright Law Bill C11, Afterlight Films Ltd. retains first rights to all raw footage and work products created by its producers, directors, and subcontractors. A portion or the entirety of original and/or alternate work samples may be used for demo reels and other promotional purposes. Additional terms of usage and/or distribution must be negotiated and agreed-to in writing and in advance of production.
